Over this quarter of a century, GCAS has been a leading pioneer in the development and applications of modeling, simulation, and analysis utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to develop software products and services for both government and commercial markets. GCAS specializes in Artificial Intelligence techniques such as Expert Systems, Bayesian Networks, and Autonomous Agents, particularly for problems involving reasoning under uncertainty.

GCAS's experience spans many years of aerospace product development in corrosion, structural dynamics and acoustic analysis, testing, and noise control.

GCAS has several current efforts in Automated and Mixed-Initiative A.I. Planning and Scheduling from a theoretical and practical aspect. In our theoretical research, we are developing the core technologies in Knowledge Representation for realistic planning domains, search techniques, and planning frameworks.

GCAS has developed both the Second Order Uncertainty (SOU) system extending Bayesian Decision Networks to include an estimate of the variance of the hypothesis, and the System for Probabilistic and Logical Reasoning (SPLORE) Knowledge Acquisition Tool that integrates state-of-the-art techniques in both logical and probabilistic reasoning through the complement of the Knowledge Machine (KM) and Probabilistic Relational Models (PRMs) languages.
